Shawano County first responders recover body of missing man and truck from Bahr Lake

WASHINGTON, Wis. (WFRV) – Early Saturday morning, deputies in Shawano County received a call from concerned family members of a missing man, his body and pickup truck were recovered later that day in Bahr Lake.

According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the initial call came in at roughly 5:50 a.m. on August 3, where family members of a missing 64-year-old man from the Town of Washington stated they were concerned for him.

An initial investigation led deputies to believe that he may have been in the area of several local lakes. They later found evidence at Bahr Lake, also located in Washington, that a vehicle had possibly driven into the waters.

With the help of other agencies, the Shawano County Dive Team responded to the lake and found a pickup truck completely submerged. The body of the missing 64-year-old man was then discovered in Bahr Lake.
