Police: Early morning stabbing at bar in Wisconsin sends one to a hospital

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin say that two people were injured after a suspect attacked them with a knife.

According to the Madison Police Department, on September 22 around 1 a.m., officers went to a bar in the 600 block of State Street for a report of an attack. A man allegedly attacked two people with a knife inside the bar.

Officials say that the suspect stabbed a man in the neck. The victim’s son then reportedly came to help but was also cut by the knife.

Bar staff immediately called for help, according to the release. The victim who was stabbed in the neck was reportedly taken to the hospital.

He is considered to be in stable condition, according to authorities. The suspect reportedly left the scene before officers got there.

The investigation is ongoing and police say the Violent Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
