Domestic dispute in Appleton leads to barricade, suspect arrested

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A domestic disturbance in Appleton, Wisconsin on April 18 led to the arrest of a suspect who barricaded himself inside the residence.

According to the Appleton Police Department, on the night of April 18, officers were sent to a reported domestic disturbance in the 700 block of North Hawthorne Drive. Officers established probable cause to arrest the suspect on domestic violence and bail jumping charges, police said.

The suspect, identified only as a man, was allegedly uncooperative with officers, refused to leave and barricaded the doors. Officers ended up using drones and a K-9 to search the residence, according to the release.

The suspect was found in the basement, allegedly hiding from officers. The K-9 was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Police said the suspect also turned on the home’s oven and opened the oven door in addition to turning on the stove-top burners.

The suspect was sent to the Outagamie County Jail on multiple charges, police said.
