GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Former Super Bowl champion quarterback Drew Brees made his way to Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft, joining several other notable celebrities and athletes in celebrating one of football’s biggest weekends.
Local 5’s Paul Steeno caught up with Brees, who shared why Green Bay holds a special place in the heart of football fans across the country.
“It obviously has a reputation for being a football mecca,” said Brees. “I think you look at not just the history of the stadium itself, but what’s now being built up around the stadium to create a really cool football and fan experience — I think it’s awesome.”
With hundreds of hopefuls awaiting their name to be called, Brees offered some words of wisdom to this year’s draft class.

“Relax and enjoy the moment,” Brees said. “All the work and dedication and commitment you’ve put in up to this point has given you this opportunity. What’s always fun about the draft — one pick difference could mean ending up in Miami or Seattle, LA or Buffalo, Green Bay or Houston. It’s amazing how just the fate of your career can change within one pick.”
He added, “At the end of the day, that’s really exciting. The team that selects you, they do it because they believe in you — they love you, and they feel like you can be a big part of their future. So take advantage of that moment.”
