‘Enough fentanyl for 1,200 doses’: Police in Wisconsin recover drugs in proactive traffic stop

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin are crediting officers after their proactive policing led to an arrest and seizure of multiple dangerous drugs.

According to a Wauwatosa Police Department release, an officer was patrolling a property that had been previously reported for service due to suspected drug activity when they noticed a vehicle pull up.

The subject vehicle stayed less than a minute and quickly left the house. The officer conducted a suspended registration traffic stop due to the suspicious behavior.

Originally a routine stop, the incident became more, as the driver had an active arrest warrant. The officer searched the vehicle and found crack cocaine and fentanyl in the driver’s possession.

According to the release, there was enough fentanyl for at least 1,200 doses. The driver was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and cocaine.
