Illinois man who was part of five armed robberies in Wisconsin gets 16 year prison sentence

(WFRV) – A 34-year-old man from Illinois was sentenced on Wednesday to 16 years in prison stemming from his conviction for his role in several armed robberies throughout southeast Wisconsin.

Richard G. Frohling, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced the sentencing on Thursday, saying that Jamal White had robbed five businesses between May 19-21, 2023.

According to the release, White showed a gun and ordered cashiers to give him money at five commercial businesses:

  • Speedway gas station in West Allis
  • BP gas station in West Allis
  • Walgreens in Milwaukee
  • Speedway gas station in Greenfield
  • Kwik Trip in Kenosha

Chief U.S. District Judge Pamela Pepper considered that White also had a role in two uncharged robberies in northern Illinois on May 21, 2023, at a Walgreens location in Waukegan and one in Chicago.

The release said that he was on parole with the Illinois Department of Corrections after a six-year Illinois prison sentence for armed robbery. He also had outstanding arrest warrants from Indiana for armed robbery.

White will spend three years on supervised release and must pay restitution.
