Milwaukee Brewers to honor the late Bob Uecker with special jersey patch for the 2025 season

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Milwaukee Brewers revealed on Monday the new jersey patch they will be supporting throughout the 2025 season in honor of former player and legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker.

According to a release from the Milwaukee Brewers, the patch revealed on Monday features Uecker’s signature on a ribbon over top of a baseball circled by a plaid ring that signifies the sportscoats the legendary broadcaster wore on his television appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Carson and in many Miller Lite advertisements.

Uecker, after playing for the Brewers, became a household name over his 54-year career as the Brew Crew’s radio broadcaster. He passed away last month at the age of 90.

We miss Bob every day, and all the more as we approach our first season without him at our side. Ueck was a great friend to all of us. He was a fixture at the ballpark and in our lives. We cannot fill the hole that his absence has created, but the jersey patch will be a way to honor his memory whenever we take the field.

The team is expected to debut the patch honoring Uecker at spring training starting with the February 22 Cactus Leauge opener against the Red at the American Family Feuds of Phoenix.

This is reportedly the first of a series of steps that the Brewers are working on to honor Uecker throughout the entirety of the 2025 season.
