Possible missing fisherman in Kewaunee County, his boat and equipment found near river after not returning home

KEWAUNEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Kewaunee County are asking residents to avoid part of CTH E after a man who went fishing never came home.

According to the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office, on December 9 around 5:30 a.m., it got a call for a welfare check. The caller reportedly told authorities that his brother had gone fishing and did not come back home.

The man’s vehicle and fishing equipment were found near the Kewaunee River. Officials say that units from the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office, the Kewaunee Fire Department, Luxemburg Fire Department, Door County Dive Team and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are on the scene.

Authorities also asked the community to avoid traveling in the area of CTH E west of Kewaunee.
