Sheriff: Construction company owner in Wisconsin found dead after crews extinguish house fire

UNION GROVE, Wis. (WFRV) – The body of a 38-year-old Wisconsin man was found inside a home after crews extinguished a fire on Thursday night.

According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a house fire at 801 11th Avenue in Union Grove around 8:18 p.m. on Thursday. According to the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department, the fire was cleared around 10:30 p.m.

Once the fire was extinguished, deputies from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office reportedly found a body in the residence, identified as Jeffery Paradise, a 38-year-old man from the Black River Falls area.

According to the release, Paradise owns a construction company and was staying in the house which was under renovations. The room he was reportedly staying in had space heaters; however, the cause of death and the fire are still under investigation.
