Two people arrested after 9 crack pipes, 11 push rods, and more found during traffic stop in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Fond du Lac County say two people were recently arrested following a traffic stop after officials discovered multiple items of paraphernalia and a handgun.

According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on November 25 at 7:47 p.m. on a vehicle with several equipment violations near Pioneer Road and South Main Street in Fond du Lac.

During the traffic stop, officials say K9 Iro was deployed on the vehicle and alerted for the presence of illegal narcotics.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found nine crack pipes, eleven push rods, a scale with cocaine residue, bowls with crack cocaine residue, and glass beakers that were said to contain a white residue inside believed to being used to manufacture “crack” cocaine, and other items of drug paraphernalia.

A search of the glove box led to the discovery of a loaded black .380 handgun with a chambered round. Neither the driver of the vehicle nor the passenger was said to have a concealed carry license.

The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old woman from Fond du Lac with no known criminal history, was arrested and taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail. Prior to arriving at the jail, deputies say the arrested woman admitted to having a large amount of cocaine concealed inside of her.

Jail staff recovered the 28 grams of cocaine from the woman who was taken into custody on the following potential charges:

  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine
  • Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place
  • Numerous traffic citations

Officials say the passenger was identified as a 39-year-old man from Fond du Lac who had a criminal history involving firearms and narcotics-related crimes dating back to 2001.

At the time of the traffic stop, the man was said to be on supervision through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for past convictions of being a felon in possession of a handgun and intent to distribute cocaine.

The passenger was arrested and also taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail on the following potential charges:

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
  • Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Violation of probation

At this time, the man remains in custody on a $3,000 cash bond and for the violation of his probation. The woman driver received a $500 cash bond that she posted and has since been released from custody.
