(WFRV) – Airbnb recently surpassed two billion guest arrivals, and the milestone guests happened to be Tim and Theresa, a retired couple from Eagle River, Wisconsin.
The couple booked a family trip to Sandy, Utah, where they stayed in a renovated ski retreat listed on Airbnb. This trip, taken in October with their children and grandchildren, secured their place in Airbnb’s history.

Tim and Theresa shared that they were drawn to the Utah listing by its high ratings, scenic location, and the flexibility to accommodate their entire family of 12. During their stay, they explored local attractions, attending Oktoberfest at Snowbird, floating in the Homestead Crater, touring Salt Lake City, and hiking area trails.
Longtime Airbnb users, Tim and Theresa have opted for the platform over traditional hotels, appreciating the home-like atmosphere and access to kitchens. A few years back, they spent two months exploring Australia, staying in 11 Airbnb listings. They described one stay in Camden Park, hosted by Peter and Arron, as particularly memorable and noted that they still keep in touch with their hosts.

The couple plans to continue using Airbnb as they work through their travel bucket list, which includes the northeast United States, Norway, and Africa. They also hope to escape the Wisconsin cold during future adventures.
Airbnb, proud of its milestone, highlighted how the platform has grown from spare room rentals to a global community that connects travelers with unique stays worldwide, from urban apartments to secluded mountain cabins.
